What Should I do If Hurt in a Motorcycle Accident?

Motorcycle accident injuries can be even more serious than car accidents because there is not much between a cycle motor and the rider. Sometimes only a pair of jeans and/or boots. With as hot as the motor gets, 2nd and 3rd degree burns are common.

Here are some pertinent things to do if hurt in a motorcycle accident:

1. If you are injured get help or call to someone else at the scene to get help.
   
   
2. Call the police.
   
   
3. If capable photo your helmet at the scene so no one can say you were not wearing it and then keep it intact; do not change anything about it.
   
   
4. Take photos of all vehicles involved, wide shots of the accident scene, and all debris at the scene. Debris can tell tales as to what happened.
   
   
5. Check for any witnesses and get witness information.
   
   
6. Exchange all information with anyone else involved in the accident.
   
   
7. If there are surveillance cameras anywhere, take pictures of them. You can get information off the camera if a law suit ensues and at least you will know exactly how the cameras were positioned.
   
   
8. Call your own insurance company for help with property damage.
   
   
9. Go back to the scene of the accident later and see if anything has changed or has been changed; make notes and take pictures.
